A cup full of coffee smashed on the ornate tiles
The scorching liquid seeped through the cold floor
I rushed from a distance, not even close to a mile
I burst out of the kitchen door.

Turns out you broke the porcelain vessel by accident
Just like how you got your heart shattered in the past
You never meant to fall in love- it was an inevitable incident
Never read between the lines, how long it would last.

You threw the cup away and never said a word
And soaked up the spill with an old rug…
The sound of broken glass, my ears heard…
I picked up the cup and in my hands I kept it snug

I sat down and tried to piece it back together… -___-
Hot glue and a kilogram of determination
Voila! I hoped all the fragments would be stuck forever @_@
I gave it back to you with persistence and persuasion ^_^

You asked why I saved the cup…
I said it was too beautiful to throw away
Even if things go through a flop
We can fix it and make it stay

But there was one thing missing…
I asked you what that was.
In the cup there was nothing
I stammered and had a quick pause.

“Hmmm…” I said “I don’t have much coffee left”
“It’s supposed to be for me, but I’ll give it to you instead.”
You make me so happy and less stressed
You made me hold back the tears I was about to shed.

I’ll never regret giving you the love that was remaining…
Cause you’re one of the few who did a good job of staying
I’m not the best poet but this one’s for you
I hope it brightens up the days that are grey and blue…
